Center Drift
Resting values away from zero can move the camera or character without touch.
Use this joystick tester to watch analog stick axes live, check whether the stick returns to center, and confirm the outer gate reaches full range.
A healthy analog stick should rest near the center, move smoothly across the axis range, and return without large jumps or stuck values.
If the stick rests off-center, run the drift and deadzone tests. If it does not reach the outer edge evenly, use circularity to inspect gate travel.
Center drift, deadzone noise and worn outer travel feel similar in games, but they show up in different parts of the test.
Resting values away from zero can move the camera or character without touch.
Small jitter around center may need a practical in-game deadzone.
Uneven circularity can limit steering, aiming or camera speed.
